Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot has launched the Big Bang Unico Sailing Team, a 100-piece limited edition timepiece crafted for the rigors of the world’s most grueling solo sailing race, the Vendée Globe.
The release was made just in time for the 10th edition of the iconic round-the-world event, which begun November 10, 2024, in Les Sables d’Olonne, France.
Dubbed “the Everest of the Seas,” the Vendée Globe challenges 40 sailors to navigate 45,000 kilometers non-stop and unassisted, passing the Capes of Good Hope, Leeuwin, and Horn.
Among the competitors is Swiss yachtsman Alan Roura, who will helm his 60-foot IMOCA yacht adorned with Hublot branding for his third attempt at the race.
